A wall sconce built as two slim cylinders of natural alabaster set in line, one above the other, meeting at a wide brass collar that sits on a rectangular wall backplate, with a brass cap closing each end. Alabaster is a soft, translucent stone, so both tubes glow warm and even from within and wash light up and down the wall. Because each cylinder is cut from natural stone, the soft cloudy grain and gentle veining on yours are its own. The result reads as a quiet vertical column of light rather than a busy fixture.
It suits the spaces where a soft, warm wash of light does more than a bright ceiling ever could — along a hallway, beside a bed, flanking a mirror or vanity, or by an entry. A single one is a gentle accent; a facing pair frames a doorway or a headboard. Off, it is a pair of pale stone columns on the wall; on, both tubes light from the inside and glow warm.
