A vertical cylinder of natural white marble, cut thin so it glows warm from within and its gray and charcoal veining lights up from behind, set on a short fluted solid-copper base. Because every shade is cut from natural marble the vein pattern on yours is its own, no two are alike, and the fluting catches the light with a soft vertical shimmer beneath it.
Mounted flat to the wall the open top throws light gently upward while the whole shade glows, so a single one reads as a warm reading light beside a bed or along a corridor, and a facing pair frames a mirror or a doorway. Off, it is a clean column of pale stone and warm metal; on, the marble becomes the glow.
